Outdoor First Aid
The CELTMAN! Extreme Scottish Triathlon is part of the Xtri World Tour.
The Avium Team were providing Medical Cover for the swim section of the event, we also had a field tent set up at the finish area in Torridon. We had a variety of different issues to treat from cold related exhaustion to soft tissue injuries.

A great couple of days on our 2 day Outdoor First Aid course. All the participants were keen to get involved and all enjoyed learning through our practical based scenarios.
Great wild conditions to highlight how important emergency shelters and blizzard blankets are in the mountains regardless of what injuries you are treating!
We have been providing Emergency First aid training and consultancy on Emergency Procedures for various Renewable Energy site over the last couple years. With so many wind farms being constructed and run in remote locations it would take emergency services an extended period to reach these sites. It’s therefore important that these sites have a way of responding to incidents and provide care to employees until help arrives. We were grateful to be able to help Bam and Siemens with Emergency First Aid Training in particular looking at the types of equipment and techniques to treat injured employees in a winter environment in the Scottish Mountains.

During the two one days sessions we looked at different types of vacuum splints, emergency shelters and stretchers, the practical sessions allowed employees to train and practice treating casualties in the setting where they work.

Treating casualties inside emergency shelters
Avium Ltd’s Event Medical Team finished our season on a high this weekend. What a great event the Illuminator run is! We were positioned at the finish area and the light zone half way around the course.
The Dramathon 2018 was fantastic! The event comprises of a full marathon, half marathon, 10km and a relay race. The Avium team covered the full course with a first aid tent set up in the finish area at Glenfiddich Distillery.
Great to see everyone smiling and enjoying the October sunshine! Another awesome event run by Durty Events.
